About

Mary’s Mobile Soup Kitchen is dedicated to feeding the hungry, redistributing food, and sharing hope with our community.

Our Story

Mary grew up in a family of eight. Times were often difficult, and meals were sometimes as simple as fruit and bread. Even so, she always had something to eat, and that early experience planted a seed of compassion in her heart. From a young age she worried about the people who had less, those who fell through the cracks because of mental health struggles, addiction, or circumstances beyond their control. Rather than turning away, she felt called to stand in the gap, to meet people right where they were, and to offer what she could.

What began as a simple act of kindness, sharing food and prayer with a few neighbors in need, has grown into Mary’s Mobile Soup Kitchen. Today, with the support of local churches, businesses, and countless friends, the ministry provides meals, groceries, hygiene kits, and essentials to homeless and food-insecure individuals across Layton and beyond. Mary’s story is one of ordinary beginnings turned into extraordinary impact through compassion, faith, and the belief that no one should go hungry.

Our Mission

Mary’s Mobile Soup Kitchen is a non-denominational, faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to feeding the hungry and caring for those in need with dignity and love. We focus on food redistribution, collecting surplus goods from local partners and ensuring they reach individuals and families who need them most.

Along with meals and pantry staples, we provide hygiene kits, blankets, clothing, bibles, and prayer for anyone who welcomes it. Every aspect of our work is rooted in compassion and the belief that hope is as important as physical nourishment.

Through partnerships with the Utah Food Bank, Sam’s Club, Maverik, Christian Life Center, New Hope Church in Layton, and the generosity of local neighbors, we are able to multiply our impact. Together, we keep good food out of landfills and put it directly into the hands of those who are hungry.

Our mission is not just to feed bodies, but also to lift spirits, connect people with resources, and create a sense of community for those who may otherwise feel forgotten.
